The City of Wildwood will host its 12th Annual Plein Air Art Event, but this year with a new and unique format!
"En plein air is a French term that translates literally as 'in the open air.'" This type of artwork is completed on location, while outdoors. Artists and photographers working in all accepted media and photography will capture a special location(s) in the City, which will be revealed at the kick-off of the event.
This year, artists and photographers are invited to submit one or two pieces inspired by Wildwood, theme and guidelines will be released on Friday, July 17. Artists can choose their subjects based on the theme.
Participants will have a three-week period to create their works, from July 17– August 7, with the artwork installed in late-August as the centerpiece of City Hall's annual celebration.
The artwork will be on sale and encouraged to be viewed during Celebrate Wildwood on Saturday, September 19th.
