The Route:
The route will take runners along the asphalt Hamilton-Carr Greenway starting at the LaSalle Springs Middle School. Runners will then transition to the chat Al Foster Memorial Trail, going east (or left) for a short distance. Then the run will become interesting for many! Runners will transition to the Bluff View Trail System!
The Bluff View Trail will be natural surface single track type trail and will offer special challenges to many of the participants! Roots, rocks, tree limbs, and maybe some critters, will hide in the darkness and challenge every step of every runner!! The phrase "Drag Your Toe and Down You’ll Go" will forever be embedded in the mind of all competitors (especially to those new to night time trail running)! After a short distance, runners will get a little reprieve, and they will shift to the Bluff View Connector Trail. The Connector Trail is similar to the Al Foster Memorial Trail, but runners should not become too comfortable! After a short distance, they will return to natural surface single track running, and the roots and rocks will have developed hands that will reach out and grab toes and shoe strings! There will be a creek crossing and, they will have to pay attention!! A wrong turn on the single track trail will take runners deep into the woods ….. IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!! Eventually the route will take runners to the asphalt Rock Hollow Trail.
Once the Rock Hollow Trail is reached runners can relax …. at least a little. The Rock Hollow Trail will take participants back to the Al Foster Memorial Trail, where they will make a right turn and run on the chat trail back to the asphalt Hamilton-Carr Trail,to the finish line at LaSalle Springs Middle School.

Who can participate?? EVERYONE!! The 7K will be perfect for the beginning night time trail runner. Just enough of a challenge to wet the whistle for more technical adventures! For those who want to do a little running, and a little walking, and enjoy a beautiful evening under the stars, this is the event to register for! And Serious Runners ….. do not underestimate this 7K!! Come out and enjoy
this run! We guarantee some of the rocks and roots have plenty of experience with the most surefooted trail runners! Lights are strongly encouraged! It will be the perfect way to start the weekend!
